Glastonbury 2016
|
It's for middle aged people now.
Just seen the tweets regarding the horrendous traffic jams and they appear to be in the main from people over 40 trying to pretend that they are still cool and go to festivals.
Looks as though they have all hired winnebagos for the event as camping is not for them.
I'll watch it on the BBC in the comfort of my own home.

Don't get what?
Being stuck in a queue going nowhere for hours just to get onto a flooded, muddy site where I have to share a toilet with thousands of other people, where I run the risk of dysentery and getting the stuff nicked from my tent whilst I watch a band from about a mile from the stage in the pouring rain whilst watching people that should know better smoking cannabis and saying it's not about the music it's about the occasion?
And all for about £200
Yes you are right I really don't get it.

Like most things these days everything is now built on its reputation from the past and attended by people who simply want to say "I've been" rather than actually really wanting to go for the experience. That's why so many fucking mugs pay shit loads to go each year and its sold out and full of cunts.
I would also put the following in the same bracket:
Ibiza Ascot Newquay Thailand

Tokyo for the weekend? Fuck that, I'd be knackered, I was jet lagged for a week in Tokyo.
As for Glasto, been there a few times, best one was when we were on stage just before the headline act 'The Streets' the place was mobbed.
A couple of years before that it was a mud bath so ended up in Bath for the day.

People do Vegas, New York for the weekend, def, thought why not, although the time difference being the other way I lost one night's kip, and fell asleep in a bar. Think it took her longer to recover from Glasto though!

Mate at work is going for the experience (bird), the lineup really isn't his thing & he is not looking happy at the prospect of mud, shit weather & traffic!
I will be staying in Walthamstow & seeing the Ragga Twins on Saturday night instead...YOURS
